---|
CDC is investigating a multistate outbreak of extensively drug-resistant, carbapenemase-producing P. aeruginosa infections associated with multiple and different infection types, including eye infections. The investigation currently suggests artificial tears may be a common source of infection for many patients. The brand of artificial tears most commonly reported was EzriCare Artificial Tears. The manufacturer, Global Pharma, has initiated a voluntary recall to the consumer level of all unexpired lots of EzriCare Artificial Tears and Delsam Pharma’s Artificial Tears. | ![]() |

CDC recommends that clinicians and patients stop using EzriCare and Delsam Pharma’s Artificial Tears products pending additional guidance from CDC and FDA. |
