PLACES provides model-based, population-level analysis and community estimates of health measures to all counties, places, census tracts, and ZIP Code Tabulation Areas (ZCTAs) across the United States. Learn more about PLACES.

PLACES Highlighted as a Public Health Tool

A recently published article titled “PLACES: Local Data for Better Health” in Preventing Chronic Disease highlights PLACES estimation methods and applications and describes how PLACES has been and can be used to support public health action. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.5888/pcd19.210459

2022 Release of County Health Rankings & Roadmaps

	County Health Rankings & Roadmaps (CHR&R) brings together various data sources, including PLACES data, and includes actions communities can take to promote health. This year CHR&R added 7 new actionable measures related to income, education, family and social support, and health outcomes.

September Is Healthy Aging and National Cholesterol Education Month

Find related estimates in the PLACES Interactive Map and Data Portal:

Prevalence of adults aged ≥65 years who are up-to-date on a core set of clinical preventive services, by sex.
Prevalence of high cholesterol among adults ≥18 years.
Prevalence of cholesterol screening among adults ≥18 years.
