Antifungal Resistance: Understanding this Growing Global Threat

Join us Tomorrow: Webinar on the Latest Global Antimicrobial Resistance Threat

It’s your last chance to register for tomorrow’s AMR Exchange—Antifungal Resistance: Understanding a Growing Global Threat.

Join us tomorrow, Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at 9 a.m. EDT to hear from experts from CDC, the University of Georgia, and clinicians who are working to track and prevent antifungal-resistant infections, like those caused by deadly Candida auris.

Moderator is Tom Chiller, MD, MPHTM, Chief, Mycotic Diseases Branch; Associate Director for Global Health, Division of Foodborne, Waterborne, and Environmental Diseases, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, USA. Speakers include: Shawn Lockhart, Ph.D., Senior Clinical Laboratory Advisor and the Scientific Lead for Antifungal Resistance for the Mycotic Diseases Branch at Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, USA; Brendan Jackson, MD, MPH, CDR, U.S. Public Health Service, Lead, Epidemiology Team, Mycotic Diseases Branch, Division of Foodborne, Waterborne, and Environmental Diseases, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, USA; Marin Talbot Brewer, PhD, MS, Associate Professor of Mycology and Plant Pathology at the University of Georgia; Shyam Verma, MBBS, DVD, PhD, FRCP, dermatologist and expert on dermatophytosis
Register now for the fourth session of the AMR Exchange Series webinar with experts discussing antifungal resistance and its impact on public health.

In its 2019 Antibiotic Resistance Threat Report, CDC sounded the alarm on three fungal threats that together cause at least 35,000 antifungal-resistant infections in the U.S. each year. Some of these infections are fully resistant to the three major antifungal drugs and more can be done to prevent their spread.

Register today to hear what’s driving antifungal resistance and how you can help stop these threats!  You can still watch the previous AMR Exchange webinars if you missed any.
