We ❤️ OERs, do you?

Hi concerns2me,

Did you see our most recent email about Open Education? In case you missed it, Creative Commons has been working to make it easier for schools, educational institutions, and research organizations to CC license learning materials.

Teacher awareness of Open Educational Resources (OERs) hit a 5-year high in the U.S. This is a significant win! CC has played a major role in the Open Education Movement since our founding, especially in recent years as more higher education institutions embrace open resources.

We want to continue this important work. Education is a human right, and students and teachers around the world deserve access to resources.  Can you donate $10 monthly to support Creative Commons' work in Open Education and beyond?

Thank You!

CDC’s Division of Healthcare Quality Promotion (CDC/DHQP) funded the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO) and the Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists (CSTE) to create and Co-Chair CORHA. The council is a multidisciplinary collaboration of national associations and federal agencies working together since 2015 to improve methods to detect, investigate, control, and prevent HAI/AR outbreaks.

Hi concerns2me,

CC believes education is a human right, which is why we fight for Open Educational Resources (OER). UNESCO defines OER as "learning, teaching and research materials in any format and medium that reside in the public domain or are under copyright that have been released under an open license, that permit no-cost access, re-use, re-purpose, adaptation and redistribution by others."

Our licenses are one of the ways education becomes more accessible. CC-licensed open textbooks, for example, can save college students and school districts hundreds of dollars per copy.

We're making strides: nearly 1 in 3 teachers are using OER in their classrooms, according to new research from Bay View Analytics. Teacher and institutional awareness is one of the primary ways that CC supports OERs and their distribution. Currently, teacher awareness is at a 5 year high and we couldn't be more thrilled
