New CDC Arthritis Continuing Education Unit

The CDC Arthritis Program is pleased to announce that the Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR) publication, "Walking and Other Common Physical Activities Among Adults with Arthritis—United States, 2019," is now a free MMWR/Medscape continuing education (CE) activity. This activity is listed on MMWR’s Medscape CE page.

OAAA Call to Action – Community-Based Organizations (CBOs)

The Osteoarthritis (OA) Action Alliance, CDC, and Arthritis Foundation partnered to create a series of sector-specific calls to actions based on A National Public Health Agenda for Osteoarthritis: 2020 Update. The call to action for community-based organizations (CBOs) includes information and links to videos, guidelines, and additional resources on how to effectively support OA prevention and management. Most importantly, it encourages CBOs to act now and make a difference by sharing information about OA, delivering evidence-based programs, supporting health-positive policies, and developing partnerships.

Remotely Delivered Programming to Stay Safe While Managing Arthritis and Other Chronic Conditions

Winter weather and staying safe from COVID-19 can present some challenges in managing arthritis and other chronic conditions for which physical activity (PA) and self-management education (SME) are recommended.
